The Luxonian Army is the largest military organization in the Prime Material Plane, with its numbers reaching over 100,000 before the Eclipse. It follows an extremely rigid structure, with its members adhering to specific roles and ranks in order to keep up with its scale.
Ranks of the Luxonian Army

King of Luxon
Serving as the commander-in-chief, the sitting king has the final word in all militaristic decisions. While the king does have advisors to assist him in his choices, the word of the one who wears the crown will always be the order followed. After Aelwin's rise to power, it became customary for the king to personally assist in major battles.
General
Generals of the Luxonian army are some of the most powerful people in the nation. Before the Eclipse, there would be five generals at a time for the five divisions. They each have their own official titles, with their division usually bearing a different name:
- General of the Interior - Focuses on protecting the city of Auduria and maintaining the Khuvelite border.
Greymount was a former Interior General, with his division being the Dragon's Maw. - Northern General - Focuses on the northern side of Luxon and Grodoran relations.
- Southern General - Focuses on the southern side of Luxon and Krolean Relations.
- Navy General - Commands the Luxonian Naval Fleet and focuses on Urodan Relations
- General Archmage - Leader of Luxonian combat mages.
Lord
Lords are noncombatants that require military assistance for protection of their assets or continuation of their ordeals. While they are of similar ranking to commanders, lords do not have the ability to conduct offensive operations unless granted by a general.
Commander
Commanders are direct subordinates to generals and work with them to plan, strategize, and execute operations on the field. A division can have around a dozen commanders at a time. They are not typically seen in direct combat, as they are more valued in a strategic and symbolic way. A commander is in charge of their own respective battalion.
Captain
Captains are highly skilled knights that excel above almost all other Luxonian infantry. They are expected to engage in direct combat. While they do lead companies of knights, captains are more often seen as individual strategic tide turners as opposed to the strength of their company. In order to become a captain, one must stand out as being able to single handedly take on an entire platoon of men at once.
Specialist
Serving under select captains are specialists that are trained to aid their superior in a specific task. They are usually meant to supplement high value targets or allies through nonstandard means. Many of the army's skilled mages are considered specialists due to their versatility.
Knight
Knights are well armored and well trained infantry that serve on the front lines alongside their platoon. While lower in the ranks, knighthood is still a great honor and is not common. They are trained in heavy armor, a variety of specialized weaponry, and are skilled cavaliers. Luxonian knights are skilled enough to take down a dozen men on their own, shoot enemy knights from hundreds of meters away, and slay vicious monsters.
Outside of military expeditions, knights can be entrusted to be the sole proprietor of small town guards.
Sergeant
Sergeants are front line squad leaders that obey the command of one or more knights. They are typically more of a formal position given to more skilled infantry or soon-to-be knights. During intense combat, it is standard practice for knights to entrust squads to sergeants for short maneuvers or formations.
Men-at-arms
The basic, standard Luxonian infantry. Consists of volunteers, employed warriors, and more. They are decently trained, but tend to suffer from a lack of supplies during prolonged campaigns due to their high numbers. Many of Luxon's local city or town guards are members of this rank.
Levy
Levies are on the same level as men-at-arms when it comes to formation. They are typically locally sourced militias, Luxonian allies, or conscripted enlistees.
