Dragons
For ages, dragons have been known throughout the planes as some of the most magical creatures in Helia. They come in many different forms, being products of the constant in their environment. All dragons are immortal, yet they still age. However, they typically all see early ends due to the violence set upon them by many creatures, including from their own kind.
Dragon Types
Chromatic Dragons
Red Dragons
The most greedy, chaotic, and boastful of the chromatic dragons, and with strength to back it up. Red dragons are favored by their mother, and boast the most power out of all chromatic dragons. They typically thrive in warm and cool mountain climates and strike fear in nearby settlements with the threat of their fiery breath.
Blue Dragons
Blue dragons are known for both their lightning breath and their incredibly large hordes that they build underneath dunes of sand. They tend to only attack those who come near their glass lair, but will sometimes go on rampages if they feel insecure about the size of their piles of gold. Many desert adventurers warn that if you feel extra static electricity while walking along the desert waves, you are as good as dead.
Green Dragons
Deep within vast forests of Helia are the lawful evil scheming green dragons with their deadly poison breath. They are extremely curious and have a thirst for knowing the secrets of neighboring kingdoms and towns. Green dragons will often meddle in these affairs in order to create more division.
Black Dragons
Living in swamps and marshes are lawful evil black dragons with their acid breath weapons. They are the most cunning of the chromatic dragons and prefer to scheme and plot instead of attacking on their own. Many tyrannical organizations have been secretly controlled by a black dragon calculating from within their swampy lair.
White Dragons
Chaotic evil white dragons thrive in frigid tundra and atop icy mountain peaks. They are the weakest of the chromatic dragons, mostly due to their recklessness in battle and blinding rage. However, a lack of care for their own safety in combat can just as much increase their danger level. They enjoy using their frost breath to freeze adventurers and keep their petrified bodies as trophies.
Metallic Dragons
Gold Dragons
The most powerful and wise of the metallic dragons. They enjoy acquiring as much knowledge as possible to hopefully share with other inquisitive minds. They prefer to build lairs in abandoned dungeons and build their horde with historical texts and magic items rather than gold. As lawful good creatures, they only use their fiery breath weapon in dire situations to protect rather than aggress.
Silver Dragons
While second to their golden brethren in strength, silver dragons are favored by their deity, Bahamut. They are chaotic good creatures with a powerful icy breath weapon. Silver dragons typically share their lair in mountains with other species and love integrating into societies as protectors and guardians.
Bronze Dragons
Bronze dragons favor honing their magical skills for battle more than any other metallic dragon. They also prefer to appear in their polymorphed form than their true draconic form. They may join armies as low ranking foot soldiers just to experience the joy of dangerous battle. Bronze dragons are neutral good, have a lightning breath weapon, and prefer coastal/tropical areas.
Copper Dragons
Copper dragons prefer to be intertwined into societies as administrators, nobles, and patrons. They build lairs in mountainous regions, but typically struggle to maintain these lairs as red dragons will usually attack. Copper dragons are lawful good and they have an acidic breath weapon that rarely sees combat.
Brass Dragons
Living as hermits within deserts, brass dragons are the weakest of the metallic group. They do not mind this weakness, as they prefer to overpower foes with cunning, trickery, and preparation. Their sleeping gas breath weapon still poses a significant threat, however. The only thing a chaotic good brass dragon loves more than a good conversation is harassing blue dragons in their desert lairs.
Gem Dragons
Amethyst Dragons
Emerald Dragons
Sapphire Dragons
Topaz Dragons
Crystal Dragons
Special Dragons
Astral Dragons
Astral dragons are some of the most illusive creatures in the land of Helia. Their creation mostly comes from dragons being exposed to the astral plane for extreme lengths of time. Natural astral dragons are almost entirely unheard of. They typically keep the alignment of the dragon they were previously to their transformation. Astral dragons have a powerful gravity breath weapon and are able to alter gravity in isolated areas.
Deep Dragons
Dragon Turtles
Dracoliches
Hollow Dragons
Sea Serpents
Xeralux
One of a kind, Xeralux is a divine token of Zelios and is the only light dragon known in existence. While he does use the physical form of a gold dragon, Xeralux's true form and composition differs from the standard.
