Baronysis

Cynefridean Pantheon

The goddess of the depths, Baronysis has few, but very devoted followers. Most people’s thoughts on her are fearful, praying only to be spared from any interaction whatsoever. While Hura rules the surface of the sea and the skies above, Baronysis has dominion over where the light ceases. Sea creatures of immense size and power are under her command, all of which are bathed in the darkness of the midnight zone. Baronysis’ full physical manifestation has never been agreed on, other than the faint glow of bioluminescent eyes and size that makes aboleths look small.

One would pray to Baronysis for safety while traveling deep into the ocean, or for protection from a large sea creature. Mocking Hura or the ocean deeply upsets Baronysis, going so far as to send deep sea monstrosities thousands of feet up to the surface to dispose of the slanderous. While often silent and avoidant towards mortals, she maintains respect from them by being a terrifying force of nature. Genies within the Elemental Plane of Water air on the side of caution when traveling into the depths, as she could be lurking below.
