Magic
Magic is the great connector that holds The Four Constants together. In its purest form, magic is the divine essence of the Creator’s power. The force that binds soul to body, body to the strings of time, and time to the aging of the soul. All magic is ultimately derived from the Creator, even if it is used by a god. The same magic one uses to cast prestidigitation is sourced from the same weave a god would tap from to cast Divine Spells.
Before the Age of Dragons, magic was unified, yet unstable. After the sealing of Maldir, magic would be split into nine schools and given respective lesser dieties to oversee them as a commitee under no pantheon. Thousands of years later, Morandar would bar the usage of divine spells to any non divine creatures. This would be the spark that led to the War of Time.
In the world of Helia, nine magic schools exist, eight of which are governed by a lesser deity. They are as follows:
| Magic School | Creator | Maintained By |
|---|---|---|
| Abjuration | The Creator | Contego |
| Conjuration | The Creator | Parios |
| Divination | The Creator | Spectra |
| Enchantment | The Creator | Blanditia |
| Evocation | The Creator | Evok |
| Illusion | The Creator | Soporia |
| Necromancy | The Creator | Corpuul |
| Secret Fire | Dracthiraron | Order of the Secret Fire |
| Transmutation | The Creator | Vicissia |
Abjuration, Conjuration, Divination, Enchantment, Evocation, Illusion, and Transmutation magic are governed by a group of lesser deities known as the Seven Magi.
