The god of disease and decay, Ichor is said to be just as old as the five great ones, perhaps even predating them. It lives within the core of the Meld (one of the three lower planes) and fluctuates with power as sickness is spread and cured. It has very few followers, but those that do tread the path of rot embrace the decay that Ichor offers. Over time, they transform into beings with a directive to spread illness far and wide.
Throughout time, servants of Ichor, known as Ichorite Strains have had different aliases, forms, and diseases. The life cycle of Ichor’s followers is fundamentally unstable. The most infectious and dangerous Ichorites usually do not last long enough to spread through the world, while less radical and potent followers are either adapted to by society or are cured of the sickness dwelling within them. The current strain of servants call themselves Witches of Ichor.
When it comes to divine tokens, Ichor is an interesting case. Most deities that create divine tokens sacrifice a significant portion of their power to it, ensuring that it can protect itself and show as proof of the god’s power. Ichor, however, is able to create many smaller divine tokens with a fraction of the power. These tokens serve as gifts to each Ichorite Strain, and can even be duplicated. The tokens that Ichor creates are much less powerful, but this comes with the upside of being able to regenerate the lost power should the token be destroyed.
