Mortuus

Mortuus is a primordial that roams the Fugue Plane and takes the name of every mortal soul that passes through. They are known as the Scribe of the Dead, or less officially, “the Good Lich.” In life, they studied the magic of necromancy, but were not fascinated by the concept of bringing the dead to life. Instead, they were more focused on interacting with passed on souls and learning from their former lives. By historical accounts, Mortuus was considered more of a historian than a necromancer before they became a primordial.

Today Mortuus roams the Fugue Plane alone, taking count of every soul that passes through before they journey onwards. They oversee the entirety of the plane and serve as a guide for both fallen mortals and otherworldly beings venturing in to take souls to their plane. Mortuus does not interfere with good or evil, and simply expedites the process for devils and celestials who enter. Physically, the primordial is very weak, but compensates by having thousands of clones of themselves that can disappear and manifest at will within the Fugue Plane.
