Eternal Day

The years following the Eclipse would be known as the Eternal Day, a period in which all mortals cease to age and lose the ability to procreate. This period of time is named as such due to the phenomenon of the sun never setting, entrapping the Prime Material Plane in an endless, stagnant high noon.

During the Eternal Day, all mortals within the Prime Material Plane would soon realize the curse that had fallen upon them. Animals and select monsters would continue their normal life cycles, with plant life continuing to thrive. Mortals seem to be the only ones cursed with the inability to make new births happen. Only a single race would come to be born naturally from this disaster, that being the Awakened.
