Hura

Cynefridean Pantheon

The goddess of storms and the sea, Hura has many followers, most being island inhabitants, beach dwellers, or sailors. She is often depicted as a woman forming from a waterspout, with her hair as dark puffy rainclouds, robes created from seawater, and eyes of crackling lightning. Fish can be seen swimming through her body as she towers above any who bear witness. She does not shy from this physical manifestation, but it is usually only a projection and not an actual avatar. People say they often see her furious silhouette in the clouds during a storm, but also her gentle hand in the water guiding alongside a boat.

The most common prayers to Hura are to ensure safe passage across the sea or to evade a storm. Other things appease her, such as donating valuables to the ocean, respecting coastal life, and praying to her counterpart, Baronysis. Overfishing, weather manipulation, or polluting the ocean will anger Hura, usually resulting in a hurricane being sent your way or having your next travel boat sunk. If your travels through the Elemental Planes bring you to the border of water and air, you may come across the floating city of Tempest, where Hura resides.
