Aelwin was the King of Luxon in from -35 OS to 0 NS
While the subject of King Aelwin’s divinity is of hot debate within Helia, it is an undisputed fact that the man possessed divine power at some point in his life. Whether or not he ascended to godhood or simply died for unknown reasons is an ongoing mystery, with the answers only understood by a select few. At the height of his reign, Aelwin was the chosen of Zelios and commanded the god’s divine token, Xeralux. His power was unmatched, and as time went on worship within Luxon shifted from Zelios to the king himself. Today, the Church of Aelwin thrives as one of the biggest religious institutions in the world.
Many specific details about Aelwin are shrouded in myth and legend. While it is widely accepted that he had a major hand in bringing about the Eternal Day, how he managed to do so is unclear. All that can be gathered is that following the Eclipse, the story that Luxonian churches ran with was that their king had brought about the Eternal Day through his ascension to godhood, and left his twin sons as demigods to rule Luxon together. Regardless of the validity of this story, it is clear that King Aelwin has left a divine mark on all of Helia. His people praise his name, and his enemies still fear him in his absence. The twin sons of Aelwin, Aloc and Aldred continue his legacy and conquest.
