Genasi are a planetouched race that originate from the powers of the elemental planes. A Genasi can form when either a mortal dies in the elemental planes, is placed under the servitude of a genie, or is heavily affected by the elements. The latter process is usually unwilling and is the direct result of trauma or tragedy, such as a fire genasi forming after losing their home to a volcano, or a water genasi forming from a tsunami. Depending on their type, genasi are viewed differently by society.
-
Fire Genasi: Seen as harbingers of chaos, fire genasi are often completely excluded from societies. They have an inherent connection with the most destructive elemental plane as well as a small innate ability to convene with the Abyssal god, Maldir.
-
Water Genasi: Opposite to fire genasi, water genasi are seen as a good omen of peace. They are welcomed into most societies, and are seen by sea elves as a gift from their goddesses. Like fire genasi, they have a small innate ability to convene with Baronysis and Hura.
-
Air Genasi: Like the wind, air genasi are ever changing and prefer to travel. They don't have any specific tendency for good or evil, as they prefer to act on their own accord as they choose at the moment. They are connected to their god, Aero, but are never seen as servants or in any debt to him.
-
Earth Genasi: Stubborn and rigid in their beliefs, earth genasi are well known for being pillars of physical power. Like water genasi with sea elves, earth genasi are seen by dwarves as a sign of good tidings by their god, Titan. Earth genasi are also able to convene with this god.
